Headteacher’s Message
Laura Atkinson
Hampton Bridge School is a Grade Two listed building located on the edge of Northampton town center, near Race Course Park. As headteacher of this beautiful school, I am proud of the inclusive environment we’ve built, where every child feels they belong.
In the words of Brené Brown, “True belonging only happens when we present our authentic, imperfect selves to the world. Our sense of belonging can never be greater than our level of self-acceptance.” At Hampton Bridge School, we are deeply aware of the barriers our students face, which is why it’s essential that we provide opportunities for them to share their stories, understand their past experiences, and empower them to navigate their future.
We celebrate diversity and work to help children discover their strengths and talents, fostering a sense of contentment and belonging within both themselves and their community.
Our Enterprise Learning curriculum is built around a three-phase approach, closely tied to our relational approach. Our mission is to offer experiences that engage students intellectually, practically, and emotionally—reigniting their love for learning, helping them grow into their true selves, and equipping them with the skills and confidence to change their world.
The curriculum is rich, experiential, and hands-on, organized into enterprise projects that allow students to explore their interests and uncover new passions. Regardless of their starting points, we support students in setting and achieving ambitious goals.
I am proud to be the Head Teacher of Hampton Bridge, where we provide a nurturing environment to help our children succeed.
